Hope Crossings Church recently sponsored a fundraiser to benefit the Hope Resource Center in Jefferson. The event was designed to bring awareness to the surrounding communities of the pregnancy services the agency offers to people within Jackson County.

A young group of performers from Gainesville and surrounding counties, ages 10 to 17, were the main event of this community venue. This group of local children presented the play “The Gift.”

It was a musical performance joining vibrant music, youthful energy and an anticipated drawing for gifts that heightened the audience experience. The talents displayed of these young actors, singers and dancers are skills taught at Clay Creative Academy.

“The Gift” was written and directed by Jeneen Hammond, owner of Claudia’s Dance Academy and Clay Creative Academy, where students have the option to learn the fundamentals of dance and choreography, as well as performing arts including theatrical performances and mentorship classes available for singing, acting and film production skills for people of all ages.

For more information on how you can volunteer or assist the Hope Resource Center, contact Janis Ray at 706-367-5304. If you or your children know of someone who may want to learn more about the theatrical and performing arts community, or have the need to include a talented group of performers at your church or community event, contact Hammond at 678-525-3852.
