Travis L. Burnett is shown receiving a certificate of commendation from U.S. Army retired Col. Donald Brown, president of the Georgia Mountain Chapter, Military Officers Association of America, during commissioning ceremonies at the University of North Georgia. Second Lt. Burnett also received a “gold bar” rank from the chapter for being commissioned into  the U.S. Army  National Guard Field Artillery. He is the son of John and Janie Stevenson of Gainesville.
