Boy Scout Troop 26 celebrated with award ceremony

Members of Boy Scout Troop 26 were honored at a May event. In the first row are: Michael Smith, John Bishop Moffett, Bennett Jones, Carson Wages and Carter Stow. In the second row are: Cates Greene, John Jessup, Tyler Wages, Sam Wilson, Luke Easterday, Jacob Poole and Elijah Jernigan. In the third row are: Jack Carter, Carter McCamy, Eric Ballard, Connor Pendarvis, Daniel Roque, David Dennis, Walker Moffett and Pierce Haynes. In the fourth row are: Henry Matthews, Weston Roberts, Luke McCoy, John Carter Cooper, David Gille, Connor Patty, Luke Cooper, Nate Boyd and Lucas Pitts. In the fifth row are: Julian Lopez, Alec Wilson, Ben Boyd, John Vannice, Preston Loyd, Holden Casey, Ben Jessup and Phil Dennis (Scoutmaster).

Members of Boy Scout Troop 26 of Gainesville were honored during their bi-annual Court of Honor on May 16 at Gainesville’s First Baptist Church. The ceremony recognizes each individual Scout’s achievements during the past six months. All ages received rank advancement and Merit Badge awards.

Julian Lopez received an Eagle Palm for his dedicated service. The Eagle Palm award indicates that he has completed additional Merit Badges above and beyond the requirement demonstrating his dedication to Scouting.
