Army Reserve Pvt. Isaiah P. Tirado has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied a multitude of subjects, including the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, and received instruction and practice in physical fitness and a variety of military skills.

Tirado is the son of Nancy Cancel of Oakwood, brother of Elijah Tirado of Hollywood, Fla., and nephew of Luis Cancel of Flowery Branch. He is a 2015 graduate of Flowery Branch High School, Flowery Branch.
