COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Authorities have identified a soldier killed in a Colorado crash as 28-year-old John DeLong of Gainesville.

The Colorado State Patrol says DeLong died Sunday when his 2003 GMC pickup truck veered off the road and flipped when he overcorrected. The vehicle rolled two times, ejecting him.

His identity was released Tuesday.

DeLong was not wearing a seat belt, according to Trooper Nate Reid of the Colorado State Patrol. Drugs or alcohol are not suspected to have played a part in the crash.
