Traffic on Ga. 53 at Thompson/Etowah River Road will not be shifted today as planned. Temperatures have been too low to conduct the asphalt work needed prior to shifting traffic, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation. Temperatures must be in the 50s and 60s for the specified work, said Harold Mull, DOT district construction engineer.
