A Cleveland teenager was killed Sunday afternoon after losing control of his pickup and wrecking north of Clarkesville.

Benjamin D. Dobbs, 17, of Cleveland was driving on Amy’s Creek Road about five miles north of Clarkesville when he lost control his 1983 Ford Ranger on a curve, according to Operator Pauley with the Toccoa post of the Georgia State Patrol. The wreck was reported at 3:46 p.m.

A report indicated that Dobbs’ vehicle flipped and Dobbs and his two passengers were thrown from the vehicle, Pauley said. The report indicated that none of the three were wearing seat belts, he said.

One of the passengers was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, while the other was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center. No additional information was available about the passengers or their conditions.

The state patrol’s Severe Collision Reconstruction Team is investigating the wreck, Pauley said, but had no information on when the investigation would be completed.
