Clermont Councilwoman Debra Armour has resigned from the post, according to Mayor James Nix.
Armour resigned Thursday, town clerk Sandra Helton said.
“We are right now in consultation with the attorney on what procedures are needed for a special election,” Nix said. “We’ll try to get that determined.”
While not set in stone, town attorney David Syfan said it looks like an election to fill the seat would be held during the November general election.
Armour was sworn into office in 2012 and was up for re-election in 2015, according to Helton.
“Everything was all right as far as her work on the council,” Nix said about Armour’s tenure on the council.
