Clermont residents have one more day to qualify for a vacant seat on the Clermont Town Council.

One person, Robin Brown, has turned in paperwork so far in the special election to replace former Ward 1 Councilman Eric Thomas, who resigned earlier this year.

Anyone interested in the seat can qualify at Town Hall, 109 King St., from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30-4:30 p.m. Wednesday. Candidates are required to live in Ward 1.

The fee is $43.20.

The winner will serve the rest of Thomas’ four-year term, or from Nov. 14 of this year through Dec. 31, 2019.
