Clermont residents who want to keep their garbage pickup will have to spend a little more for the service. The Town Council voted Tuesday night to turn over its garbage service to a private contractor, Chase Sanitation Group of Cornelia, which will charge $12.25 monthly for the weekly service. The North Hall town had been charging $72 every six months, or $12 monthly, for its truck to pick up trash every Monday morning, a service that also included recycling.
