Laurie Brown, a science teacher at World Language Academy in Flowery Branch, is spending her summer in someone else’s science lab. Brown is participating in the Georgia Intern Fellowship for Teachers program this summer and working in Dr. Kelly Dyer’s genetics lab at the University of Georgia for four weeks. “It’s an opportunity to apply and work with research professors through their grants through the university and just really increase your science skills,” Brown said.
