Class Notes: National group gives state C minus in education performance

StudentsFirst, a nationwide group of public school lobbyists, gave Georgia a “C minus” in its annual report card released Monday, with the grade based on how well state government promotes and supports the teaching profession. It’s an increase from 2013, when Georgia received a “D plus.” The increase comes from the state legislature passing a “strong model for education evaluations with large bipartisan majorities,” according to the website at reportcard.studentsfirst.org.
