Chestatee Regional Hospital in Dahlonega has named a new CEO, Jason Cox.

Cox, originally of Blakely in South Georgia but now a Lumpkin County resident, graduated from North Georgia College & State University in Dahlonega and started his career as a medical service corps officer in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany.

“I have had the pleasure of working with many superb health care CEOs, and it is a pleasure to move the welcome mat a short distance up the mountain for Jason to join Chestatee Regional Hospital as CEO,” said Ron Turner, senior vice president of Southern Health Corp. of Dahlonega.

“His successful track record with key physicians in the alignment of organizational and physician interests both clinically and financially will enable him to be involved with more physicians across a wide variety of specialties and settings in meeting growing community health care needs in Lumpkin and surrounding counties.”

During his time in the Army, Cox oversaw medical evacuations in an area of Baghdad and following his tour in Iraq, he assumed the role of COO at Darmstadt Health Clinic, a large outpatient primary care facility in Germany.

Following his time in Germany, he worked as associate administrator at Martin Army Community Hospital in Fort Benning.

Cox served the past five years as administrator of Northview Orthopedic Surgery Center/Northview Orthopedic Associates in Dahlonega.
