An Athens man faces drug and weapons charges in an investigation into a Flowery Branch man’s death last month.

Christopher Sebastian Carneiro, 30, is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, receiving stolen property, possession of cocaine and party to a crime, according to Braselton Police Chief Terry Esco. He was arrested around the same time as Antonio Ward Gee, 19, of Dacula, who has been charged with murder.

The two were charged after Braselton Police investigated the death of James Walls, 56,

Both Gee and Carneiro were booked in to the Barrow County Jail, where they remain.

Esco said the two men knew each other but was unsure of the exact nature of the relationship.

The chief said Carneiro was discovered at a Wal-Mart in Barrow County.

According to the police, Walls was first seen at a nearby Waffle House before moving to the Circle K gas station at the intersection of Ga. 124 and Ga. 211.

Walls then got into an argument with the suspected shooter before being shot in the chest, according to authorities. He was found dead around 1 a.m. Oct. 29 at the Hoschton gas station.

Five people have been charged so far.
