A burglary charge brought against a Gainesville teen in February has been dismissed.

Joshua Joseph Stowers, 17, was one of five people whose arrest was announced Feb. 3 by the Hall County Multi-Agency Narcotic Squad in connection with a two-month burglary and theft ring investigation.

Stowers was arrested and charged in connection with a break-in at a house on Buffington Road.

On Nov. 20, the Hall County District Attorney’s office dismissed the charge against Stowers, saying further investigation showed the home may have been burglarized by the victim’s son.

A sheriff’s investigator agreed with the prosecution’s decision to dismiss the charge.
