Challenged Child and Friends is holding an art contest to determine the T-shirt design for its 16th Annual 5K and One Mile Fun Run/Walk.

The contest, sponsored by H&R Block of Gainesville, is open to all high school students. The deadline for submitting a design is 4:30 p.m. Monday.

The winner will receive $100.

The design must include the event’s name, the Challenged Child and Friends’ logo or the words "Challenged Child and Friends" and the words "Presented by Harris Products Group."

The sponsors will be listed on the back of the shirt.

Challenged Child is a therapeutic center providing early intervention services to families with infants and preschoolers who have developmental delays, disabilities or at-risk conditions or behaviors.

Students are encouraged to visit http://www.challengedchild.org/ to learn more about the organization.

Students need to use a 9-inch by 12-inch white sheet of paper to present their design. They can use up to four colors.

They need to write their name, phone number and their school on a separate sheet of paper attached to the back of the design.

Students should bring their design to Challenged Child, which is at 2360 Murphy Blvd., off Browns Bridge Road. Designs may be left at the agency’s front desk from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

The winner will be notified by phone by Tuesday.
