Candidates for state House District 25 will get the chance to spar on the issues at a public forum Nov. 1.

The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with The Times and Jacobs Media, is hosting the free event 6-8 p.m. at the Spout Springs branch library on Spout Springs Road. A candidate meet and greet will be held 5:30-6 p.m.

Representatives from both media companies will pose questions to the candidates, but the exact format has not been decided.

The seat, vacated by James Mills when he was appointed to the Board of Pardons and Paroles, has garnered numerous candidates and will be decided in a special election Nov. 8. Early voting begins Tuesday.

Candidates include Bobby Banks, a former Hall County commissioner; businessman Emory Dunahoo Jr.; sole Democrat in the race Paul Wayne Godfrey; businessman Dominic Ottaviano; businessman Todd Reed; attorney Sonny Sykes; and former Flowery Branch Councilman Kris Yardley.

There will be no party primary, but party affiliation will be listed on the ballot.

Editor's note: An earlier version of this story omitted the name of businessman Todd Reed.
