Amanda Rider, 12, ties a remembrance ribbon in the memory tree with help from foster mom Amber Askew. Rider’s ribbon is in memory of her mother Betty Jo Moulder.
Camp Braveheart, founded in 1996 by the Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, is a weeklong summer camp designed to help children who have experienced a significant loss in their family. The camp is free of charge. Volunteer camp counselors are joined by licensed social workers and an art therapist to help the grieving campers at Cedar Hill Enrichment Center in Gainesville.
