Calvary Church Road will be closed to through traffic between New Harvest Road and Barber Road from 8 a.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Oct. 3.

The road is under reconstruction between Candler Highway and Chicopee Woods Elementary School.

The $4.2 million project, funded by Hall County's 1 percent special purpose local option sales tax, is estimated to be completed by late October. The work is intended to help improve safety, especially for the large amount of commercial and industrial traffic on the road.

The contractor, Marietta-based C.W. Matthews Contracting, will reopen the road 2-3:30 p.m. on Friday to accommodate school dismissal, according to a press release from the county.

Motorists trying to reach Chicopee Woods Elementary School any other time should take Poplar Springs Church Road to Calvary Church Road, the release states.
