Public Health director wins community service award Dr. David N. Westfall received the Medical Association of Georgia’s Physician’s Award for Community Service for 2014 during MAG’s 160th House of Delegates meeting Oct. 18 at The Lodge and Spa at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain. The award recognizes physicians who demonstrate a love for the community outside the regular scope of practice. In nominating Westfall for the award, Georgia Academy of Family Physicians President Brian K. Nadolne said Westfall has made outstanding contributions to his community and the state of Georgia — “particularly through his (efforts to start) the Good News Clinics,” which was formed in 1992 and has grown into the largest network of free clinics in the state.
