Peach State Health cites Longstreet pediatrician Putnam
Buford-based pediatrician Dr. Laura Putnam earned the Summit Award for Excellence in Care from Peach State Health Plan.
Putnam is a board-certified pediatrician who has been practicing at The Longstreet Clinic since 1997. She completed her medical education and residency at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta.
In selecting Summit Award honorees, Peach State Health Plan considers exemplary performance in several key areas, according to a news release. Recipients are also recognized for providing overall outstanding service and quality care and improving health outcomes for Peach State Health Plan members.
Somayajula joins Northeast Georgia Physicians Group
Dr. Suvarchala Somayajula has joined Northeast Georgia Physicians Group Neurology.
A Pittsburgh native, she earned her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and completed her residency at the University of North Carolina
At UNC, she was the recipient of the Peter Lars Jacobson Award for Excellence in Patient Care. Somayajula also completed a fellowship focused on movement disorders and deep brain stimulation at the University of Minnesota. Most recently, she cared for patients at Southern Crescent Physicians Group in Riverdale.
Somayajula specializes in deep brain and vagal nerve stimulation programming, lumbar punctures and Botox treatments for numerous conditions including migraines, dystonia and hemifacial spasms.
