United Community Bank event raises more than $25.6K for local charities

United Community Bank employees entertained thousands of customers and friends April 9 with their 17th annual live production of The Bankers Hour.

The performance raised $25,650 in ticket sales for charities throughout the markets served by United Community Bank in Georgia, western North Carolina and east Tennessee. The total donations raised are divided evenly among United's 27 communities, with each receiving $950.

"The Banker's Hour is a labor of love for the many employees who donate their time, energy and talent, both on stage and behind the scenes, to entertain our valued customers and neighbors," says Jimmy Tallent, United Community Bank president and chief executive officer. "We greatly appreciate the generosity our audience members show each year. It's this willingness to give that enables United to donate to so many charitable organizations in our communities on their behalf."
