Jackson EMC chief Pugh named to economic development boardRandall Pugh, president and CEO of Jackson Electric Membership Corporation has been appointed by Gov. Nathan Deal to the Board of Directors of the Georgia Department of Economic Development.GDED is the state’s sales and marketing arm, the state’s lead agency for attracting new business investment, encouraging expansion of existing industry and small businesses, developing new domestic and international markets, attracting tourism and promoting the state to the entertainment industry.The board meets quarterly.Pugh began his career in the power industry at Walton Electric Membership Corporation in Monroe in 1968, where he held various management positions. He became head of Jackson EMC in August 1984.He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Georgia.
