Local Jazzercise owner earns company honors

Colleen Manji, owner of the Jazzercise Gainesville Fitness Center and of Jazzercise Braselton, has earned the President's Club Platinum Award from Jazzercise.

The award recognizes Manji as one of the top money earners in the Jazzercise franchise operation, ranking in the top 3 percent of all Jazzercise franchisees in the past year.

Jazzercise ranks as the No. 1 fitness franchise, according to the Entrepreneur Magazine Franchise 500 list, with $96 million in sales for 2011.

Lumpkin County's Grizzle promoted by DOT

The Georgia Department of Transportation has promoted Lamar Grizzle to Highway Maintenance Foreman for Lumpkin County.

Grizzle has worked with DOT since 1988. He began his career as a maintenance employee and has served in the Maintenance Division throughout his career. Since 2005, he served as assistant highway maintenance foreman for Lumpkin County.

In his new role, Grizzle and his crew will be responsible for maintenance of all state routes in Lumpkin County.

"Lamar is an outstanding employee and he knows Lumpkin County like the back of his hand," District Engineer Todd McDuffie said. "Maintenance is extremely important to keeping our roadways safe for all motorists and Lamar is just that kind of hard working, conscientious employee that we need to ensure the safety of our roadways. I am sure Lamar will do his job to the best of his ability."

Lamar and his wife, Mandy, live in Dahlonega. They have four children.
