Berg named to board of ACCG
Mike Berg, chairman of the Dawson County Board of Commissioners, was elected by leaders of the Association County Commissioners of Georgia to serve on the board of managers. Berg was sworn in as a member of the ACCG board at the group’s 2008 annual meeting in Savannah. Additionally, Berg will continue to serve on the ACCG executive committee.
"I was humbled to be placed on the board of managers by my peers representing District 2 (North Georgia) and further, as one of five to continue to serve on the executive committee," Berg said.
Llonch is honored by Atlanta group
Leo Llonch of Gainesville has been named the recipient of the Good Neighbor of the Year award by the Northeast Atlanta Metro Association of Realtors. His application will be submitted to the National Association of Realtors Good Neighbor of the Year Award.
Llonch is a Realtor with Virtual Properties Realty in Duluth. He currently serves as a trustee with the Gainesville State College Scholarship Foundation and is a fundraiser for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. During the last 10 years,
Llonch has volunteered, sponsored children’s education, coordinated fundraising and taught leadership classes.
IPG receives Patriot Award
Floyd H. Baldwin, president of Industrial Properties Group, was recently awarded the prestigious Patriot Award for Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve. IPG is based in Gainesville.
Jason Rue, a major in the Air Force Reserve and IPG employee, nominated the company and its president for the award. Rue has been a sales associate with the company following two consecutive years of orders to the Afghanistan and Iraq theaters ending in 2005.
Rue served as a reserve C-17 aircraft commander and instructor pilot in the 317th Airlift Squadron, based in Charleston, S.C. Today, he continues his role with IPG while serving in the Reserves at Dobbins Air Reserve Base, where he oversees training operations of four reserve airlift wings that operate the C-17, C-5 and KC-10 aircraft.
Ellis to participate at court conference
Lisa Ellis, clinical director of the Family Relations Program’s Project Pathfinder, was one of six Georgia experts tapped for participation in this year’s Juvenile Court Judges 2008 Spring Seminar. Ellis was nominated to speak at the conference by Hall and Dawson County Juvenile Court Judges Cliff Jolliff and Mary Carden.
Project Pathfinder, a program of the Family Relations Program, is a treatment program for young children with sexual behavior problems and youth who have committed sexual offenses. Providing long-term, outpatient treatment in close cooperation with the juvenile justice system, Pathfinder has a long track record of successes working with these children to prevent relapse of offense behavior.
