As part of its largest grand opening in company history, Kohl’s Department Stores will officially open its Flowery Branch store on Nov. 14.
One of 95 stores to open nationwide this fall, the Flowery Branch store will create approximately 150 jobs in the area. The store is the 28th store to open in Georgia and is located at 5851 Spout Springs Road.
The new store is one of nearly 200 nationwide featuring Kohl’s newly enhanced look, which includes glass storefront entrances with showcase windows and automatic doors allowing hands-free entry into the store. The store will feature an expanded Juniors’ department, fitting rooms with lounge areas, updated rest rooms, and redesigned customer service and checkout stations.
Construction begins on The Gables
Trinity Lifestyles Management has begun construction on The Gables of Dogwood Forest, a new independent living community at 3315 Thompson Bridge Road, adjacent to Dogwood Forest, an assisted living center. Both are owned and operated by Trinity.
With completion expected in 2009, The Gables will be a full service community with fine dining, a wellness center with indoor pool, business center, outdoor walking and courtyard areas.
"We’re offering an option for active adults who want to enjoy a service enriched lifestyle without the responsibility of home ownership and maintenance," said Al Holbrook, a Trinity executive.
SBDC announces newest course offerings
The University of Georgia Small Business Development Center will hold two business courses in November. "How To Start Your Own Business" will be held Nov. 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gainesville Bank & Trust, 500 Jesse Jewell Parkway. The class is sponsored by the bank and is free.
A follow up class, "How to Write a Business Plan & Financing Your Business Venture," will be Nov 14, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Gainesville SBDC office, 999 Chestnut St. Cost for the series is $35.
