Hall credit union leads state in growth
A report by Callahan & Associates, a national credit union research and consulting firm, has ranked Hallco Community Credit Union first in Georgia in 2007 in deposit growth and second in Georgia in loan growth. These state rankings put it at 65th in deposit growth and 33rd in loan growth among all credit unions throughout the United States.
Hallco was founded in 1971 and is a full-service financial institution that exists solely to focus on members’ needs instead of profits, allowing them to provide substantial savings to their members. The credit union serves people and their immediate families, who live, work, attend school or worship in Hall and White Counties.
The credit union has three branch offices, two in Gainesville located at Limestone Parkway and McEver Road and on East Kytle Street in Cleveland.
Clinic’s fundraising leads March of Dimes
The Longstreet Clinic recently received first-place fundraising honors in the business category for the 2008 March for Babies in Hall County. The clinic’s employees raised a total of $35,322.55 to help save infants born prematurely.
On April 26, some 50 teams from businesses across Hall County participated in the event and have raised $122,000 for various programs involving premature babies and their parents, according to Jana Dover, community director for March of Dimes’ Northeast Georgia Division. About 600 people participated in the three-mile walk.
The Longstreet Clinic, in its second year as the walk’s presenting sponsor, held the event, which included entertainment, food, face painting and other activities for children.
