Hall County’s unemployment rate bumped back up slightly in May to 6.9 percent, up one-tenth of a percentage point from 6.8 percent in April, the Georgia Department of Labor announced today. The jobless rate in the metro Gainesville area rate was 7.3 percent in May a year ago. The rate increased primarily because of the seasonal influx of job seekers into the labor force as new graduates began looking for work, the DOL reported.
