A 65-year-old man was killed in a head-on collision Saturday night in Buford, according to Gwinnett County Police.

Lance R. Sperring, 65, of Buford was driving north on Buford Highway in a 2003 Cadillac DeVille at about 8 p.m. Saturday when he was hit head-on by a southbound 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer, according to Gwinnett Police Cpl. Illana T. Spellman.

Sperring died at the scene and the driver of the Trailblazer was treated for minor injuries at Gwinnett Medical Center.

Both drivers were properly restrained and there is no indication that alcohol or drugs were factors in the wreck, according to Spellman.

The investigation is ongoing.
