Brenau radio station WBCX celebrating 40th anniversary
0809WBCX4
On the wall inside Jay Andrews’ office at Brenau University are a few mementos of his career in broadcasting.
WBCX at Brenau University started as a 10-watt radio station, and today it is a digital operation with modern studios and a broadcast footprint that covers much of North Georgia. The station is celebrating its 40th anniversary. It was founded in 1976, with the efforts of Clara Martin, a journalism professor; John Jacobs, chairman of Brenau’s board and owner of Jacobs Media; and professor James Bridwell.
