Brenau University has hired alumna Ashley Morgan Carter as its alumni director. Carter began work in the position last week.
She earned her Master of Business Administration in health care management in 2012 and her Bachelor of Business Administration in 2009, getting both degrees from Brenau.
Her extracurricular activities included a stint as the president of Brenau’s Students in Free Enterprise chapter. Her team made it all the way to national competition in Dallas, Texas.
She is a 2004 Chestatee High graduate.
Carter worked for two years at Northeast Georgia Health System as a patient-care technician and unit secretary and for three years as a health careers coordinator for the Foothills Area Health Education Center.
Matt Thomas, vice president for external relations at Brenau, said Carter’s experience as a nontraditional student her senior year and someone who worked full-time for part of her schooling will benefit her in this new position.
Carter replaces Jenny Dell, who ran the alumni office for five years.
“I’ve always had it in the back of my mind to come back home,” Carter said. “It will be awesome to be on the other side of alumnae weekend and May Day, helping plan it and coming up with new ways to reach out to the alumni body. I am already excited for April.”
