The brand-new, still-unopened labor and delivery unit at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton was busy with activity Wednesday. The hospital’s labor and delivery unit, which opens for the first time at 8 a.m. Sept. 12, held a day of mock scenarios to allow its medical professionals to practice procedures and use of the new space and equipment. “It helps the unit to know what protocols are in place,” said Dr. Jeff Ward, OB/GYN. “Is the notification system working?
