The State Route 53 Boling Bridge over Lake Lanier at the Hall-Forsyth County line was finished early over the weekend and is now open.

Georgia Department of Transportation spokeswoman Teri Pope said the bridge opened to traffic at 9:15 p.m. Sunday, eight hours earlier than planned.

Next weekend, the work will take the full weekend work window from 8 p.m. Friday night continuously to 5 a.m. Monday.

The bridge will be completely closed to traffic again next weekend.
