Police are investigating why a woman's body was found Wednesday in the back seat of a car parked at a Gainesville motel.
Officers took the call around 12:45 p.m. June 27 to the Budgetel Inn and Suites on Jesse Jewell Parkway, where landscapers had found the decomposed body uncovered in the back seat of a car parked in the front parking lot, Gainesville Police Cpl. Drew Reed said.
The body was that of a white woman likely in her 50s or 60s, Hall County Deputy Coroner Kevin Wetzel said. She has not been identified, he added.
“With the heat and everything, it kind of progressed the decomposition of the body,” Reed said.
Her body has been taken to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Wetzel said.
