Belk is offering free mammograms through its mobile mammography center next week in Gainesville and Cornelia.

The 39-foot-long screening center will be at the Belk store at Lakeshore Mall in Gainesville from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 16. It will be at the Belk in the Habersham County Shopping Center from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 18.

Women age 40 and older with no breast concerns, who have not had a mammogram in the last year and have a primary care physician are eligible for a free mammogram. They should call 855-655-2662 to set up an appointment.

After receiving a free mammogram, women may visit the intimate apparel section at the Belk store to receive free bra fittings.

Licensed, female mammography-certified technologists from Charlotte Radiology will perform all screening exams, and a board-certified radiologist specializing in breast imaging will interpret the mammograms. Confidential results will be sent to the patient and her primary care physician.
