A Gainesville man allegedly bought alcohol for an underage girl and inappropriately touched her at an East Hall home, according to authorities.

Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigators started on the case Feb. 8 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where a girl under the age of 16 was being treated.

The case involved Jonathan Mitchell Norman, 21, who knew the girl.

“The initial investigation revealed that Norman touched the female victim’s chest and genitals while at a residence in East Hall County,” Sheriff’s Office spokesman Derreck Booth wrote in an email.

Norman was arrested Feb. 8 on a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor “for purchasing and providing alcohol to the victim on the night of the molestation,” Booth said.

Norman posted bond on the previous charge, but he was taken into custody again Friday, Feb. 28.

He was booked into the Hall County Jail, where he is being held on a $16,700 bond.

The case is still under investigation.

No attorney information was available Tuesday, March 3.
