Gainesville Police investigating man’s death in wooded area near Allen Creek Road
PoliceLights

Land surveyors in the wooded area between Fullenwider and Allen Creek roads discovered a man’s body Wednesday, Feb. 26.

Gainesville Police responded to the call and determined there were no apparent signs of foul play.

“He was beside a fire, similar to that of a campfire, but it was not burning at the time,” Cpl. Jessica Van wrote in an email.

The man has not been identified, but he is believed to be roughly 25 to 35 years old. Van said it is possible “he could have died within the last 2-5 days.”

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is performing an autopsy.

The case is still under investigation.
