Man cited for distracted driving in Thursday 985 wreck that injured 3

Update: 

An Alto man was cited for distracted driving after a wreck around noon Thursday on Interstate 985.

Three people were taken to the hospital, though Cpl. Jessica Van said Friday the injuries were not life-threatening. She did not know if the patients had been discharged.

Gainesville Police report the crash involved four cars, one of which rolled over, and happened near Exit 20.

Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said Thursday the people taken to the hospital were in stable condition.

Traffic was at a standstill and backed up to mile marker 17 earlier, but the roadway reopened around 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

Robert Shows, 40, was charged with following too closely, too fast for conditions and distracted driving.

No further information regarding how the crash happened were released.
