A Gainesville woman with a felony escape warrant for allegedly not returning to Hall County Work Release was apprehended following a traffic stop, according to authorities.

Meredith Rae Daniel, 27, was served with the warrant while Johnny Thomas Satterfield, 36, of Gainesville, was charged with fleeing and eluding as well as hindering the punishment of a fugitive.

They both were booked Friday in to the Hall County Jail, where they remain. No bond has been set for Daniel, but Satterfield has a $15,950 bond.

Hall County Sheriff’s Office authorities said Daniel “failed to return to the custody of Hall County Work Release” on Jan. 6.

Daniel was in a car driven by Satterfield, whom deputies attempted to stop Thursday. Authorities said Satterfield drove off and was later arrested on Clarks Bridge Road.

Satterfield had a Superior Court probation warrant, which was on an original theft by taking charge.

He was also charged with not having proof of insurance, passing on a solid yellow line, two counts of running a stop sign, laying drags, speeding, reckless driving, striking a fixed object and obstruction.

The case is still under investigation.
