A passerby in a water truck helped extinguish a fire in a pickup truck on Interstate 985 on Tuesday afternoon, according to authorities.

Hall County Fire Services responded to a vehicle fire near Exit 17 on the northbound side at 1:55 p.m. and found a 1991 Chevrolet 1500 with a small amount of fire showing, Capt. Zachary Brackett said.

Fire personnel extinguished the rest of the fire, and no injuries were reported. The vehicle suffered fire damage in the engine and passenger compartments.
