Authorities said one man died after being stabbed by another man who later died after being hit with a baseball bat Tuesday in Hoschton.

The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office said family members of Stanley Hugh Ivy Jr., 47, of Hoschton, who was found dead from stab wounds in a shed at his residence, sought to intervene in the original fight by hitting Whitney Kyle Stovall, 31, of Winder, multiple times with the baseball bat.

Stovall was later pronounced dead at a local hospital due to injuries from the baseball bat, authorities said.

Barrow County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded before 5 p.m. to 1168 Old Hog Mountain Road, according to authorities.

Both bodies were sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab for autopsies.
