A former Hall County jail sergeant pleaded guilty this week to misdemeanor simple battery in an incident involving a handcuffed inmate in June 2014, according to authorities. Kenny Lane, 45, was charged in a Feb. 2 accusation from Northeastern Judicial Circuit District Attorney Lee Darragh. The case was closed Wednesday as a first offender case resulting in 12 months probation.
