A Braselton man is accused of putting a small camera in a private residence’s bathroom and recording a victim undressing, according to authorities.

Stephen Edens, 45, was charged with sexual exploitation and invasion of privacy. He was booked in to the Hall County Jail Thursday, according to the jail logs.

According to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, Edens allegedly placed a mini-camera in the bathroom and had “recordings that depicted (the victim) partially clothed and exposed using the restroom.”

“(The victim) learned of this when she located the mini cam hidden in the bathroom,” Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Deputy Nicole Bailes wrote in an email.

Edens made bond set at $16,900. He is scheduled for a committal hearing Jan. 29 in Magistrate Court.

Edens declined to comment Friday afternoon when contacted by The Times.

The investigation is ongoing with further charges pending, Bailes wrote.
