Award-winning educator, author and speaker Michael Verde will be speaking about a groundbreaking approach to dementia care at First Presbyterian Church in Gainesville at 6 p.m. Thursday. The event is free, and family, friends, caregivers, volunteers and professionals who work with people who have dementia are encouraged to attend. Registration and resources are available from 5-6 p.m., and Verde’s presentation will run from 6-7:30 p.m. at the 800 S. Enota Drive church’s Sweetenburg Hall.
