A Gainesville man’s probable cause hearing for charges of attempted rape and false imprisonment was postponed two weeks.

Demetrius Miguel Render, 44, was charged by Gainesville Police following an alleged Sept. 3 incident at the Dairy Queen on Green Street.

Police said Render allegedly “lured” the victim into the restaurant’s bathroom and attempted to assault her.

Render appeared Monday morning in Magistrate Court, where he did not have an attorney with him. The judge continued the case’s hearing to Oct. 3 to allow Render more time to obtain an attorney.
