If you’ve been wondering about something in your community, Ask The Times is your place to get answers. The following question was submitted by a reader and answered through the efforts of our news staff.

There's a storage facility being built behind Sherry's Bait & Barbecue. What company is that going to be?

Secure Storage LLC has initiated the construction next to Sherry’s Bait & Barbecue, located off of Dawsonville Highway in Gainesville.

Sarah McQuade, manager of the Hall County Planning Department, said the company received approval for a land disturbance permit in October 2018. The total parcel of land equates to 5.5 acres.

“They did a revision to it recently,” McQuade said. “They’ve been working on it since last fall.”

Jenna Williams, manager at Sherry’s Bait & Barbecue, said she started seeing the construction take place around four weeks ago.

“A lot of people here have asked about it and made their own speculations,” she said.

McQuade said the land disturbance permit revealed that Secure Storage LLC intends to build six storage units ranging from 5,200 to 24,000 square feet.

This company is not the same as the Secure Storage LLC headquartered in Senatobia, Mississippi.
