Plans are moving forward on a “pocket park” for the area between the historic train depot and Growlers on Main in downtown Flowery Branch. “What we’re looking to do, in terms of this grant application, is to put a mural ... on the side of the Growlers,” said John McHenry, director of planning and community development. McHenry sought approval of a grant application at the Aug. 7 meeting of the City Council; as he said, funds have already been set aside for the mural, but the idea is to create a sitting area by the mural, with bricks and lighting.
