The Appalachian Regional Commission has contributed $100,000 toward the development of the Byron Herbert Reece Farm and Heritage Center in Union County.
Gainesville’s Fleming Weaver knows firsthand how Appalachian Regional Commission dollars have benefited North Georgia. The Byron Herbert Reece Farm and Heritage Center in Union County has gotten some $100,000 in grant money from the agency, said Weaver, a Byron Herbert Reece Society member. The money was used to restore farm buildings and design and put into place educational exhibits in the structures.
