WomenSource will be honoring women who protect the community at its annual Power of the Purse fundraiser on Sept. 11.

Because the event falls on Sept. 11 this year, the theme is women who protect others, so models in the fashion show will include police officers, educators, nurses and nonprofit directors, Elizabeth Burnette, executive director of WomenSource, said.

Featured models include:

  • Angela Middleton
  • Ashley Corwin
  • Kay Hall
  • Kay Blackstock
  • Anslee Wilson
  • Stephanie Woodard
  • Ava White
  • Danielle Perkins
  • Melissa Begley
  • Julie Battle
  • Girl Power Models:
  • Angelica Krubeck
  • Jamia Lewis
  • MaryKate Cimarossa

Models are dressed by local merchants and female small business owners, Burnette said. The 11th annual event will feature a silent auction, raffle, buffet dinner and fashion show.

WomenSource provides educational programming aimed at empowering women. Programs address topics such as health, financial planning and legal issues.

A table of eight for Power of the Purse is $800. Individual tickets are $75 each. To register for the event, call Burnette at 770-503-9060 or go to the WomenSource website.
