Annual burn ban starts May 1
fire2.jpg

The annual burn ban begins May 1 in Hall County, meaning residents can burn yard debris this weekend but not again until October.

Burn permits can be obtained by calling 770-536-2442.

Recreational fires such as campfires and grills are exempt from the ban.

The Georgia Environmental Protection Division has banned burns each summer since 2005 in an effort to improve the state’s air quality.

For more information, call the Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office at 770-531-6838.
